On September 25, Morocco introduced its Digital 2030 strategy, aiming to become a digital leader and boost its economy by integrating AI, Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT), cloud services, and fostering innovative startups. The strategy is projected to contribute $10.35 billion to GDP and create 240,000 digital jobs by 2030. It also targets boosting digital exports to $4.15 billion and improving Morocco's UN Online Services Index ranking from 100th to 50th.

The initiative focuses on expanding 5G coverage, creating 3,000 startups, and enhancing public services through digitalization. With a budget exceeding $1.1 billion, the plan will develop FAB labs, attract global tech companies, and standardize administrative procedures via a unified digital portal.

The Moroccan Agency for Digital Development (ADD) will lead public sector digitalization, while partnerships, including with the Hashgraph Association and UM6P Ventures, aim to improve citizen services and encourage entrepreneurship using DLT. The strategy builds on Morocco's growing blockchain ecosystem, including educational initiatives with Binance and the success of local blockchain startup Tookeez.
