Early experiments with digital money

Digital money began to develop with the first experiments aimed at creating convenient and secure ways of exchanging currency over the internet. In the 90s, projects such as Digicash and e-gold attempted to create alternative forms of money but faced issues with regulation and security. These early systems already envisioned transaction anonymity but were unable to ensure widespread use. It is important to note that despite their limitations, these experiments laid the foundation for the emergence of modern cryptocurrencies and blockchain technologies.
