Tether, the largest company in the digital asset industry, announced its assistance in an investigation conducted by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), resulting in the recovery of stolen cryptocurrency worth approximately 10,000 Canadian dollars (CAD).
Tether’s assistance included freezing USD₮ assets involved in the incident, allowing the funds to be returned to their rightful owner. Detective Sergeant Major Addison Hunter of the OPP noted that collaboration with Tether was a key factor in the successful seizure and return of the stolen digital assets.
According to Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino, the company remains committed to supporting law enforcement efforts in combating cybercrime.
