This agreement is part of a package of U.S. aid approved earlier this year and includes an option for an additional 25 aircraft. Deliveries of the new fighters will begin in 2031, with partial deliveries of 4-6 aircraft per year. These fighters will be equipped with weapon systems integrated with Israeli ones, significantly enhancing their range and payload capacity. The Director of the Ministry of Defense, Eyal Zamir, noted that this contract strengthens Israel's strategic capabilities amid current challenges. Since the start of the war in Gaza, the government has secured procurement agreements totaling nearly $40 billion.
