Hackers breached the crypto investor Wiz's account and started promoting a new token, causing an uproar in the community. ZakZBT warned users about the fraud, noting that these are the same hackers who recently breached Andy Airy's account.
Airy, the creator of the Truth Terminal bot, fell victim to a SIM swap attack, allowing hackers to promote the Infinite Backrooms (IB) token and boost its market capitalization to $25 million within a few hours. The hackers purchased 124.6 million IB tokens for $38,400 and then quickly sold them off, making a profit of $602,500.
The aftermath of the breach affected the meme token market. The GOAT token fell by 34.5%, dropping from $0.8788 to $0.4686, indicating a decline in investor confidence.
