The Aptos Foundation has announced a partnership with SK Telecom to integrate Tether’s USDT stable_coin into the web3 application “T wallet.” This partnership expands access to stable_coins through a platform used by millions of customers of South Korea's largest telecom operator.
The integration, supported by SK Telecom’s PASS application, will enable users to easily use USDT on the Aptos blockchain, minimizing complexities and facilitating the transition from traditional finance to decentralized systems.
The Vice President of SK Telecom’s web3 department, Oh Sehyun, emphasized the importance of the partnership for popularizing web3, highlighting the shared commitment with Tether to broaden access to digital assets and networks using the company’s telecom expertise.
The T wallet platform will offer over 30 million SK Telecom clients an easy way to use stable_coins.
Tether added support for the Aptos network in August due to its active developer community and low transaction fees, making the network suitable for a wide range of applications — from microtransactions to corporate operations.
