After the collapse of FTX, Coinbase became one of the first U.S. cryptocurrency exchanges to return to sports sponsorships. In October, Coinbase announced partnerships with the Canadian Football League, the NBA's Golden State Warriors, and the Nike Melbourne Marathon.
Previously, FTX collaborated with the Warriors by creating NFTs and directing Bitcoin to charitable organizations. Now, Coinbase is filling this niche, aiming, in the words of Warriors' Chief Commercial Officer Mike Kitts, "to build a fan base using blockchain technology".
