The city of Buenos Aires has launched the QuarkID digital identification system, which will enhance data protection for residents using ZK-proofs. This service is integrated into the miBA app for accessing municipal services and documents, allowing users to verify the authenticity of their data without revealing unnecessary information.
QuarkID uses the Ethereum blockchain network (ZKsync Era) to ensure data security. Over 60 types of documents are already available, and more will be added in the future. All data is controlled by users, excluding third-party interference, reducing the risk of data breaches and theft.
The project will also be tested in other regions of Argentina.
