The UAE plans to introduce a legal framework for decentralized autonomous organizations (DAO) in the free economic zone of Ras Al Khaimah Digital Assets Oasis (RAK DAO). The new regime will simplify the registration of DAOs, allow them to own digital and real assets, and provide legal protection for founders and participants.
Irina Khiver from NeosLegal noted that DAO registration will be available remotely, without the need for physical presence in the UAE, which will attract global participants. Also, creating a DAO in the UAE will be significantly cheaper than in Switzerland, with a starting cost of around $3,000.
