The TON Foundation has announced a partnership with Axelar to improve TON's compatibility with other blockchains and facilitate cross-chain asset transfers. This solution aims to develop decentralized applications (dApps) across various networks.
The primary goal is to integrate Axelar Modular Decentralized Stack (MDS), which will provide secure and efficient asset transfers between blockchains. As a result, developers will be able to create applications that work on different blockchains, improving user interaction with the TON network and reducing liquidity fragmentation.
Moreover, Axelar Interchain Token Service will play an important role in simplifying operations between blockchains, enhancing the network’s efficiency. The solution was chosen due to its ease of integration for developers.
This step will also help solve the current limitations of TON, related to the lack of a reliable interoperability protocol, which previously restricted its potential in the decentralized finance (DeFi) space and dApp development.
