Users lost about $1.6 million due to a fake crypto wallet that passed verification in the Apple Store in February. The app, disguised as Rabby Wallet from DeBank, was in the App Store for four days before being removed.
One of the victims noted that they completely trusted Apple and did not expect fraud. Within 20–30 minutes of using the fake wallet, their balance was almost zero.
X Bthemouth was the first to report the loss of funds, which were transferred to the fraudulent Rabby Drainer wallet. Blockchain analysis linked this wallet to another previously identified as Konpyl on OpenSea. This fraudster has been active for about seven years, covering their tracks using DeFi services and spreading funds across different wallets.
The investigation confirms the connection of the Konpyl wallet to several major fraudulent operations.
