Brazilian Congressman Luis Filipe de Orleans e Braganza proposed a bill that allows employers to pay up to 50 percent of salaries in cryptocurrency, such as Bitcoin. The law prohibits full salary payments in cryptocurrency, except for foreign workers. Independent contractors are allowed to receive full payment in cryptocurrency if the contract terms are met. Cryptocurrency conversion will be done according to the exchange rate set by the Central Bank of Brazil.
