Melon Lam, a citizen of Singapore, will stand trial for the theft of 240 million dollars in Bitcoin, which he and his accomplice stole in 2024

Melon Lam Yu Xuan from Singapore will stand trial for a large Bitcoin fraud case worth 240 million dollars (320 million Singapore dollars). Lam and his accomplice, Jeandiel Serrano, stole about 4100 bitcoins in August 2024. While in the USA under the visa waiver program, Lam used the stolen funds to buy expensive cars and real estate. He also spent money on nightclubs and expensive gifts for influential people. Lam was arrested in September 2024 and is awaiting trial in October 2025.
