Microsoft is accelerating the development of its own AI models to compete with OpenAI, with which it has been collaborating for many years. The company has created new models for "reasoning," similar to OpenAI's technologies, and developed a family of MAI models that should compete with OpenAI's models. In addition, Microsoft is testing alternative models from xAI, Meta, Anthropic, and DeepSeek for use in its Copilot product.
