Former Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao (CZ) will make his first public appearance after resigning at the Binance Blockchain Week event in Dubai.
According to Zhao’s post on X on October 10, this event will be one of the largest Web3 gatherings this year, and he confirmed his participation in a personal capacity.
This is Zhao's first public appearance after admitting to violating U.S. anti-money laundering laws and paying a $50 million fine. Binance was also fined $4.3 billion, making it one of the largest corporate settlements in U.S. history. As part of the settlement, Zhao stepped down as Binance's CEO and spent four months in jail, after which he was banned from running the company for life.
Nevertheless, Zhao retains a 90% stake in Binance, remaining one of the richest individuals in the crypto industry, with a fortune estimated at $61 billion.
