Uber has introduced an AI assistant, developed based on OpenAI's GPT-4o, that will help drivers transition to electric vehicles. The new tool will be launched in the US in early 2025 and is a key element of the company's strategy to reduce emissions.
At the Go-Get Zero event in London, Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi emphasized that this chatbot will help make the transition to electric vehicles less complicated and more accessible for drivers. According to her, Uber drivers in the US, Canada, and Europe are switching to electric vehicles five times faster than regular car owners. In London, already 30% of all rides are made in electric cars.
Uber is also launching a mentorship program where experienced electric vehicle drivers can help newcomers, and is holding pop-up events where users can test electric vehicles like the Lotus Eletre and Rivian.
