Starting from January 1, 2025, a ban on cryptocurrency mining will come into effect in ten regions of Russia, including Dagestan, North Ossetia, and Chechnya, which will last until March 15, 2031. Participation in mining pools will also be prohibited, and temporary restrictions will be imposed in other regions during peak loads on the power grid. The reason is the high energy consumption of mining. The list of affected regions may change depending on the demand for electricity.
